I would wait until 9000 series is released, but if you're desperate go with the 3GB model.

Also, if you're getting the 7970, just get the cheapest one with a dual/triple fan cooler. They're not significantly different to the point where you want to pay more for one over another.

between the vapor x 3 gb and 6 gb about 200 between the vapor x and the standard card about 100 bucks

That's not worth it, if you're set on buying it now, just get the cheapest 7970 with a dual fan cooler. However I suggest you wait for the 9000 series, like the others have said.

They have a 6GB card lol?  Not worth it.  You won't find any games that use all of a regular HD 7950's 3GB's.  The Vapor X itself is worth it, but you wouldn't go wrong with the Dual-X version of the card either.

If you want a cheap and good performing card right now, get the 7970 3gb. I would just get the standard version and overclock it. I would recommend waiting for the 9000 series like the users above suggested.

I don't think a 7970 can make use of 6gb of vram unless you had 2 of them, so either wait for 9k series or buy the 3gb version for now if you really need it
