tech quicky question

Go to solution Solved by Cvdasfg,

If they dont notice dont say anything :P by now the key is deleted anyway

sup guys, quick question.

so i was watching the video about ransomware (watch?v=shDgBHUXnr8) and linus showed an image of an encrypting piece of shit ransomware, now since im the one in my family that deals with all computer related issues i have encountered this exact one (at 2:13, cryptolocker) and many others. (such as the ukash police/child porn virus)

i used AVG resque cd/boot/usb whatever you like to call it and got rid of it 100% of the time. however now that linus said in the video that theyre locked and NEED an private key to be unlocked left me wondering. have my family members been missing files that they may or may not have forgot that are still locked on there since i just straight up deleted the malware?

ive never actually have them mention theyre missing something but it just left me curious.

to the best community,
