Battlelog is being prepared for BF4 on Tuesday! People are being greeted with this message when going to Battlelog as of now-

 

 

Battlelog will be updated and undergoing maintenance on Tuesday, 2013-09-03. The update will start at 07:00 (UTC), and will last approximately 3 hours. During this period, Battlelog will be unavailable. The update will contain various fixes and improvements, while the Battlelog infrastructure will be updated in preparation for Battlefield 4.

 

I won't be picking up BF4 given its insanely high price when combined with premium, so I'm not really thrilled, but I do feel the interface may be overhauled. What do you think about this?

You get beta access to BF4. I've never understood the point of being happy to get beta access to anything. Essentially, its mostly never exclusive and you are essentially providing a service of spending time and testing out a game for bugs before release and not even getting paid/ acknowledged. Remember, Crysis 3 Alpha? Those codes were given away like CRAZY and I expect the same thing with BF4, even if you are not in premium.

I am a huge BF fan and will buy Premium inevitably, but seeing as what you get with the service, it doesn't seem like something need to buy right away. If you pre-order the game, you get the China Rising DLC regardless and you don't lose much else without Premium for the first few months. Maybe a few camos and double xp weekends, but at launch, there is nothing that makes Premium a value, so I may hold off for 2-3 months. It only becomes a value when the other DLCs come out because you get early access, technically a lower price, and server priority which goes into affect at launch but isn't really that big of a deal IMO. So I think I'll hold off on Premium, maybe get it for Christmas

NO. it will ahev sales but not weeks after it will have first sale like 25% off in 3-4 mounths, they wont take the price down as logn the game is new and it getting bought by gamers on regular price

Battlefield 4 is COMPLETELY different than Crysis 3 though. BF has a much larger fanbase and is much more anticipated than Crysis 3 was. Plus BF4 will probably be one of the launch titles for the next-gens, so I wouldn't expect BF4 to drop in price nearly as fast as Crysis 3 did. I'd give it 4-6 months minimum.

I preordered BF4 for £30 (down from £45) on amazon, so the price is already down a bit if you don't look at origin. Also, BF3 premium dropped loads really soon after launch, so I intend to buy BF4 premium when it becomes affordable/I feel I am really missing out on loads by not having it. By preordering, I get China Rising, so that means I have nothing to gain until after December when it comes out (2nd assault is supposed to be DLC 2). By then, the price will be way down or I could get it for christmas.

They won't be changing much of the battlelog UI because they only changed it to what it is now quite recently, while doing some early prep for BF4 backend.

Yea they really need to fix BF3's COOP because it always doesn't work. Hope that they will improve Battlelog with the release of BF4.
