reseat cooler. My 4590 stock never reached 65*C

Try reapplying thermal paste, it shouldn't get this hot, even with stock cooler I'd think.

try lowering the core clock. That always lowers temps however it also makes games run slower

lowering core clock from locked cpu? can u do that?  he should just reapply thermal paste, he has fked up. if it doesent work, then take it to rma because you are lazy.

That might be the improper mount of cooler.

I recently built my first computer (Link). When I'm playing GTA 4 or running 3D mark, my I5-4590 gets up to a scary 90°c. I have two case fans and the stock cooler set to "turbo mode" through the UEFI, but nothing seemed to make a difference. I'm looking to get a new CPU cooler by the end of the month, but I'd like to try to find a solution in the meantime.

Thanks,

N

What is the GPU temp? That would let us know if it was a general cooling problem, or a CPU-specific one.

Thanks for reading this! Shame that there's nothing here worthwhile for you to read... but you are still reading. Why?

i saw your pictures and noticed you only have 1 intake fan, that's not good

all the heat from the CPU + GPU is gathering in your case and it's hardly going out

you must have at least 1 exhaust fan

EDIT: you said you have two fans, so i suppose 1 is at top

but still, something must be very wrong. i have i5 4590 and it's just like @don_svetlio said with mine also

Gpu hovers around 65°c under load and 30°c idle.

Really? That is odd indeed. Maybe your 4590 has bad IHS or you have a bad stock cooler if reapplying thermal compound and reseatting the stock cooler doesn't do the trick.

A bad IHS is likely not the cause and it's probably the cooler not being properly seated instead.
