My friend got an 144hz ultrawide 1080p(2560x1080) for christmas and he needed me to set it up.  when i go to the advanced screen resolution settings to change the refresh rate to 144hz the options are only 60hz or 59hz, i don't see a 144hz option.  the monitor is the samsung s29e790c and his gpu is a gtx 550ti.  I looked it up i've seen people get 1080p at 144hz on a 550 ti so i don't think its the gpu.

ideas?

I can help with programming and hardware.

Even if it was a 144hz monitor you wont be playing any games at 1080p 144fps with a 550ti anyways.

If that was a 144Hz display it would have costed another $300+ and we would all have heard about it already.

Tough luck I guess.
