Hey guys! I am looking for advice on what CPU, motherboard and ram I should get for a build under £1000?

Is it £1000 for the CPU, board and ram only? Whole Build? What uses is it for ? Gaming/Vid editing?

What would be your primary use for it? Gaming or Video Editing?

5930K is expensive but pretty nice.

My primary use would be gaming but I do some editing.

Not really much use putting in all the extra money if you aren't doing professional editing.

Something like this would be a little more reasonable.

X99 from ASUS with Haswell i5 5000ishK or Z170 with a lower i5, pick & choose

 

You can get like 16gigs of Crucial DDR4/3 for like $60 and $40 respectively.

You don't really need more than 8gigs for gaming and some editing. Also the last build I posted should 100% take care of all your needs.

I have 8GB and the only time I've ever gone over was  when I was doing some stuff in unreal engine 4
