Ok, so my system specs are in my info, and I have an extra PSU with 400 W and my system crashes from time to time, it is my lack of wattage to my system? Or do I have to ghetto mod another powersupply somewhere in the case.

Answer everything it ask honestly. I suggest using Expert.

This does overestimate by a bit. But a little overestimating on the power supply isn't going to hurt you (Other than maybe your wallet). Lower than needed will.

Pay attention to how many amps it recommends for each rail. Those are pretty accurate. You don't want lower supplied amps than it suggest on any rail.

This is pushing the idea that wattage is everything. Wattage is not everything. Amperage on the individual rails is much more important.

500W is enough for that system.

I wouldn't tell your build as basic build.

It's pretty capably medium range gaming one.

I would swap out that cheap CX500M to a Seasonic one or anything from EVGA G2/GS/GQ or XFX TS.

CX series PSUs are meant for basic builds like the one without any discrete GPUs and basic office systems.

If you're using that 500W psu in your system, then you're fine. You're only using about 300.

What are you doing when it crashes.

Also why have an APU when you have a GPU?

I had that APU before I had the GPU. The APU's graphics have been disabled.

Cough.

I do not like power supply calculators as they focus on wattage - yes they show amperage but in this situation, you have to pay to get that(or something else is going on as i cannot view the required amps). As people are probably not going to pay for it, they'll focus on wattage and assume they're automatically okay.

500 is plenty. Do you have any possible unstable overclocks?

Nothing is overclocked on my system.

All better now. Ad blocker add-on was interfering with it, and disabling said add-on and refreshing the page wasn't enough - I had to re-create the tab to the page. I can now view the amperage.

Sorry, forgot I had adblock disabled on that site.

Is it crashing while @ load, while @ idle, or somewhere in-between?

i'd say both
