I'm assuming the thermal paste turned into basically super glue. I find that happens with Arctic Silver 5. My friend ripped a CPU out of the socket once.

Haha yeah exactly. This is an old AMD that was in an Emachine from like 2003.

Or too much thermal paste, always give it a little twist before removing

Pins are in perfect condition.

Don't think so. When I turn it on. The heatsink fans just spend at 100%. No POST or anything.

You getting any beeps? I have seen that happening quite a few times, usually its all good as long as it was pulled up straight.

No beeps. Keyboard lights up, and no display from monitor.

Well if the pins aren't damaged and you are getting fans spinning up and USB power I would think the CPU is okay.

 

Check over everthing else to make sure.

VGA cable, the monitor works on my other system.

It happened to me with an AMD FX-8120, took about two hours to get it separated from the heat sink.

Its exactly what happened when I torn completely apart my old computer which had a P4 and was from 2000-2002

The funniest is that when you get to remove the CPU, you cant rub alcohol, you have to scracth off the thermal paste

Only thing that happened to me that was like that, was that the CPU was stuck in the socket and the cooler so when I used force to pull the cooler off I ripped the socket right off O_O

Then you may have damaged the actual Mobo when ripping it of... If the pins are OK the CPU is probably fine, dont thing anything went loose in its insides...
