Its exactly what happened when I torn completely apart my old computer which had a P4 and was from 2000-2002

The funniest is that when you get to remove the CPU, you cant rub alcohol, you have to scracth off the thermal paste

Only thing that happened to me that was like that, was that the CPU was stuck in the socket and the cooler so when I used force to pull the cooler off I ripped the socket right off O_O

Then you may have damaged the actual Mobo when ripping it of... If the pins are OK the CPU is probably fine, dont thing anything went loose in its insides...
