Anyone know any unlocked voltage cards that are decently cheap? (less than ~100$)

I'm buying an Ln2 GPU pot, but I'd like to practice on a cheap card before I do it to my 980 TI.

Below are a few, but they are sometimes really hard to find, and when you do find them, many times they are quite expensive.

These are all cards that have unlocked voltage if you use MSI Afterburner Extreme (a more advanced version of Afterburner that isn't available to public really)

NVIDIA:

  • N460GTX Hawk
  • N480GTX Lightning
  • N560GTX Ti Hawk
  • N580GTX Lightning
  • N660GTX Hawk
  • N680GTX Lightning

AMD:

  • R5870 Lightning
  • R6870 Hawk
  • R6970 Lightning
  • R7870 Hawk
  • R7970 Lightning

If it is 'not available to the public' how have you got it?

Hwbot released a download of it for a short amount of time, before Guru3d complained about it and they had to take it down.

ooo, I'll add that to my watch list.

I'm debating on a 580 Lightning, there's 2 on ebay for ~100$.

Get a 480 or 580, it's always fun OCing old flagships to compare with new stuff :P

I played with evga 480 on phase change with my friend and it was awesome

Yeah I found 2 580 Lightnings, one is $100 with free ship, one is 90 with 15$ ship.

I'll probably order one, and the the Ln2 pot I wanted tomorrow.

EARLY 880Mhz models of the HD7950 from various brands, even gigabyte,...were voltage unlocked,..., some 1000Mhz models started appearing and voltage locks were then common across many makers...

You can also find these GPU's for $100 give or take, but you would have to make sure now...about the bios being voltage unlocked.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
