For some weird reason one of my orders was processing for 12 days. I call them up(remember to praise them a lot) and they were like sorry here have a better motherboard.

This is what motherboard i ordered: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/MSI+H87M-E33+Intel+H87+%28Socket+1150%29+Micro-ATX+Motherboard+?productId=55802

Here is what they said i would be getting(sadly its for a lucky customer): http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Intel+Socket/Socket+1150+-+Intel+Z87/GIGABYTE+GA-Z87X-UD3H+Intel+Z87+%28Socket+1150%29+ATX+Motherboard+?productId=55558

How awesome is that, its not the best motherboard in the world but that is quite awesome of them to do.

But that is completely different chipset. LOL. You know it might be an used mobo or something? Why'd they give you a far better mobo as a replacement for low-end H87 chipset mobo? EVEN FROM A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER?!?

How nice of them. What CPU you gunna put there? It's OC-ready mobo so i'd get 4670k.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

4430, The customer wanted a i5 but to keep it as cheap as possible, luckily the case is atx(corsair 200r). Honestly i dont care if its open-box. Gigabyte very rarely screw up. Im excited as this will be the best motherboard that ive ever worked with, shame that it will not be used well.

It's a different form factor as well xD Make sure it will actually fit in your case first :P

Unless the corsair 200r gets smaller by monday i should have no problems, i could always spice it up zip-tie the motherboard to a stick, no problems at all. Im just grateful. Im sure the customer will not give two shits but her son is kinda into pcs, they know the number schemes for graphics cards. I have an unused 6770 just gathering dust. Should i come up with some bs reason for giving it to them for £20.

If it wasnt a gigabyte product then i might think of it as a problem and ive brought many gigabyte products old and new and even some from those dodgy pc meet ups and never had a problem apart from when i tripped up a wild lego(my mother was moving stuff around) and head butt my motherboard(the one in the sig which was rmaed after 3 days). I do say that if there is a problem in the next month(31 days whatever month it is) then free repair(which ive very had to do. Yes its risky but whatever, ive never brought an open box product for a customer just in case. Aria made me wait 12 days and i buttered them up so they felt bad, if this board is open board then they are bloody shameful.

You didn't understand, i think.

He (and i think i would agree, it's not really harming anybody, that mobo would be put to no use anyway) suggested that you should buy the same motherboard that you wanted to buy in the first place from somewhere else and keep the much better mobo from aria for yourself.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

I meant your ethics, not theirs, if you get where I'm going with this

You can either

A) Do nothing; give them the motherboard which they'll never even care for or use to the least bit of it's potential

B) Buy another 59$ board, sell the current board

C) Bite the cost of another 59$ board thereby gaining yourself this board for 59$

Based on what I've said you can probably see by my bias what I would (not) choose.

It is as he says:

You didn't understand, i think.

That's what you should do, even the emoticon shows it. Sell the better board, buy another one (even at not such good price) that is the cheaper one and you get 50 pounds at least for yourself.

not the best motherboard in the world but that is quite awesome of them to do.

actually, the only things that other motherboards could have done better than that one are a PLX chip or better audio. The power delivery on that is about as good as it gets and everything else is standard gigabyte high end quality.
