What do you want to do?

do that.

I have a GTX 660 SLI and I am waiting for Pascal, others have had 680s and have long since upgraded to Maxwell.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

Isnt Pascal NVIDIA's new gpu board? Correct me if im wrong.

I would probably go with the 980 ti, because the 980 and 970 are pretty much the same gaming wise.
plus nvidia's new board will probably be a little bit more expensive

Well, I am hating the AMD Drivers, an utter disappointment, as well as the GUI.

I would like some better frames in my games like TERA and SOMA and SMITE, but currently they are playable...

I honestly don't see their GTX 1080 or however they scheme the name, being more than 700 bucks... Unless it was their flagship card like a Titan F or something idk being the typical 1g.

When pascal comes out I can see the price of the 900's dropping.

Yes, because developers make special editions of games just for you that are more demanding. Obviously, I am clearly missing the fact that the R9 380 has trouble running AAA games etc. I apologize greatly! Oh how sorry I am.

Your CPU would be a bottleneck to a 980 Ti, 980 or Pascal. I'd upgrade your CPU to an i5, and then wait for Pascal (if you can still live with your 380, if not, you could get a 390 or a 970 and then upgrade to Pascal when you think the time's right.)

What sort of performance are you getting in your given games and at what quality settings? Am I wrong in saying Smite is DX9?

Is your CPU load spread across all cores or is it on one or two?

If you need an upgrade right now, then do it. I wouldn't count on Pascal or any other "next" gen hardware that's still being developed until we have actual specs and maybe a release date.

Why are you so mad? lol

I don't like the 380, am I not entitled to my own opinion based on the games I play?

It's shitty for me, but may not be so shitty for someone else who only plays League of Legends. Calm your titties.

Never checked usage per core.

Yes Smite is DX9.

Max graphics

SMITE: min13 max55

TERA: min8 max43

SOMA: min15 max47

Typically I start lagging when the particles start getting heavy, so it might actually be my CPU necking me already, but idk.

Haven't looked real heavy into it. Also these are only estimates based on when I am playing. But I'd say educated guesses.

You just came out with a blatant statement saying the 380 was shitty, not explaining, not saying that was your opinion or anything of that nature. You didn't say what games you were playing, what FPS you wanted to achieve - completely no context whatsoever. This isn't Facebook Messenger, this is a forum, where we explain what we write and we discuss things properly; not telling someone to "go away" because they contradict you or make you realise what you have written is dumb.

That is unfortunate. DX9 only uses a couple of cores, and with the FX-series have such week single threaded performance, it can lead to some performance drops. I speak from experience, my first build was with an FX-6300.

For the time being, I would try to overclock your CPU and reduce some of the graphical settings; I expect you're experiencing some bottlenecks. On the topic of waiting until Pascal, I would. The R9 380 is a very capable card, even in its 2GB variant.

I wasn't asking for anyone's opinion on the card. I simply asked "Get 980 ti now or wait for Pascal.". Take it how you want, nice meeting you.

Yeah, this is kind of how I'm feeling.

I'll be coupling this upgrade with a 5820k, so it should be really nice :)
