Whenever I plug in a peripheral to the power supply, the computer shuts off (if it's on) or doesn't boot. The system does turn on when only the gpu, cpu, and the 24 pin connector are connected to the motherboard and the psu. Help?

Notes:

•This is a new pc

•I've tried two power supplies: EVGA GQ 650w and a CX750

•I hear one beep when it goes on with the cpu and stuff plugged in

•No fans spin except for cpu cooler and the gpu fan

Could be an incompatible cpu and motherboard Bios?

I didn't plug anything into a monitor yet because I did not want to overheat anything, just a quick on and off, so I don't know anything about the bios. And the cpu should be compatible.

The new one is it compatible with every parts you use? even the ram speed ? try to start with only 1 ram dimm and see what happens.

Nothing happened with 1 ram dimm

1 dimm in every slot?

Yeah, except for the first. The hyper t4 will not allow it.

No, it will boot for a split second, then turn off. I worded that badly.

Do you know what bios version came with it because your cpu is only supported on bios version P4

I have no idea what the bios version is. Where can I check?

Your cpu is also only supported on bios version 304 on the z97-E

The z97-e will be returned, but how do I check the bios version?

Ok well I dont think it is bios but It could be a bent pin on motherboard?

I hope not. The pins on the bottom are bent down and the ones on the top are bent up when it first came, is that ok?

Oops, other way around. Bottom ones are bent up and top bent down.

forget the bios thing cuz i know you cant get into it with that little time. so let me give you these points to try...

1. Reset BIOS by take out/put back a battery

2. Replaced case start button (not power supply). You can check it by doing the following:

a. Open computer and find a wire that goes from a case start button to motherboard.

b. Power on the computer and pull out the wire that you found in step 'a'

c. The computer starts up

If I pull out the wire, how do I turn it on? There would just be an open wire somewhere. I just don't get how that would make the computer work. I think it is more of a wire issue.
