What version of GTX 980 TI do you all prefer?

Go to solution Solved by Nishizumi,

1. Double BIOS on that card means either it has one BIOS for normal operation and overclocking, and another BIOS for extreme overclocking (usually under LN2). It doesn't have to be extreme. It could be just you wanting a higher clock. Another possibility for a sem one BIOS is a failsafe in case something goes terribly wrong.

2. The 14+3 Phase power delivery helps in delivering more power to the GPU. It doesn't equate to higher clocks, but it removes and power delivery bottlenecks if your were going for extreme clocks.

3. This is incorrect. In fact, in most cases having a backplate actually helps temperatures cool a little bit.

The current card I'm debating to get or not : GTX 980 TI EVGA Classified but a few options I'm not really understanding.

1.)double bios?

2.)14+3 power phase I guess helps overclocking capabilities?

3.) I hear backplates make the GPU run hotter?

double bios is useful when you Flash your bios so incase you fucked up there is a backup one,

yeah helps with OC but IMO its mostly Marketing

no, they'll run them cooler, but not really noticable

ATM newegg is selling the classified/FTW and SC+ around the same price give or take a few bucks.  That being said the classified has the same cooling as FTW and SC+ just has an extra option of adding a liquid cooling block should I decide to OC?
