so i have come to the point that i am going to buy sister a cheap GPU to play Smite with me (her on-board graphics cant even do 10fps on the lowest settings)

also the GPU cant require any additional power input because i dont want to buy her a new PSU aswell...

im thinking a GT 730 but im not sure if there is anything better at that price range... im not to familiar with like entry level GPUs... or the AMD product line up...

That GPU is terrible, get the GDDR5 version of the GT 730 with 384 CUDA cores that is actually decent

Yep, that looks like the one. It's actually a pretty good card, I was able to play World of Tanks, Planetside 2, Warthunder.etc on medium settings before I upgraded. Mine OC'd like a champ too, was able to get +300 core and +400 mem without raising voltages.

i actually believe you... that is probably worse than on-board graphics

Probably considering onboard graphics didn't come out until 2010. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_HD_and_Iris_Graphics#History

Altthough the Vanta was mainly used as Arcade Game graphics processing units.

Have you done research into how well this GPU performs?

There'd be little point in buying it, and then find out it doesn't run it much better than integrated graphics. I'd be inclined to spend a bit more, this is why:

yeah i get that, i do... but i was really just looking for something that would run Smite on low settings at like 30ish maybe more FPS, which it will... and hopefully at the same time get my sister into PCs / gaming and maybe she want to upgrade herself... with her own moneys...

If you're confident that it can run Smite at that framerate on low settings, then go ahead. She will be EXTREMELY limited in what other games she can play, so you need to bear that in mind. I would still be tempted to spend a bit more so you have more flexibility. For example, this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r7360p2sf5

It does cost $40 more, but it will perform MUCH better, along with being able to play other games. Let's say she wants to play Fallout 4, boom, you can play it (given that you're realistic about the graphical settings).

again, yeah i get that, i do... i think if i were to recommend to anyone looking at a good GPU with a good price to performance ratio it would be a GTX 970... but in this specific situation were my sister

1) only has one PCIe 16x 2.0 slot

2) the CPU is some POS amd 2 core at i think is 2 hz-ish that will bottle neck the fuck out of any higher of a GPU

3) her PSU has no / none at all PCI 6 pin / 8 pin power connectors

4) (unrelated) is in dire need of an SSD - took FOREVER to download Smite and update all the patches

anyways - until my sister proves to me that see is actually going to play PC games with me - its not worth spending  $100 or more to upgrade her system

- $60 bucks... eh ill eat that if she decides PC gaming isn't for her.. upgrading her CPU / mobo, PSU and GPU... not worth that investment for me at the moment
