Seller lives in the US, I live in The Netherlands so I'll have to pay 100 Euros of import tax.

Seems good. Get it, run memtest86, check SSD status via SSD-Z, stresstest CPU, check temps, check chassis for defects, check screen, if all is good use it.

Looking for a good laptop for school work.

 

The ONLY thing I'll be doing with this laptop is typing.

 

I have 900 euros max but I'd prefer to spend around 400-500 (so I can buy some games or a gaming mouse for my main rig or something).

 

The only thing it really needs is good build quality and a good keyboard/screen.

It looks like a good laptop but all i'm going to be doing is typing. It doesn't even need to have a Gpu at all! all of this is overkill for what I'm going to be doing

Y50 is way too expensive. I only really want to spend 500 euros MAX

2nd hand? You can also grab a 2nd hand Y510

What would you recommend then? for around 500 Euros?

2nd hand ThinkPad. Those don't break even if you try, usually a i7 2630QM, 120-240GB SSD and 8-12GB of RAM can be had for 400Eu on ebay

from ebay yes, get it, run a few tests, if it fails, return it via ebay and get your money back.

I still have a bad feeling about it though...

 

from my experience buying second hand things does not go smoothly...

ThinkPads are robust. Some can even be used under the shower (not joking)

My sis got a 2nd hand T410 with a first gen i5, 4GB RAM and 160GB HDD for 40Eu. Works like a charm
