Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok here is the deal. My parents work pc got the blue screen of death. Then they booted it back up and it went white and shutdown. So I am trying to fix it(always me). This is the pc http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01926404〈=en&prodSeriesId=4047689. So every time I try to boot it recognizes the keyboard, and then the monitor goes to sleep and the keyboard does not respond. I have tried moving ram around, new cords, keyboards, graphic cards etc etc etc I dont know what to do. this happened once before about 4 months ago.

Any help is very appreciated:)

Sry for the long link.

With the case off, when you power it up, do the fans spin up and stay spinning, or is it powering down completly?

If you can try removing one of the ram sticks, or replacing them, reset the bios by removing the battery, and try using the onbaord video if it has a vid card in there, you can also try a different PSU, if none of these work it is quite possibly the motherboard has died or the CPU has pooped it self like Samdb has said.

Yep - going to need some spare componentd and test everything. Problem is - that system is all custom, as is much of HP business systems. They even use custom pinouts on new business PC's so you cannot use a standard PSU even. Did you check the serial number with HP and see if it is still under warranty?

Try running with just one ram stick... swap and see if anything works.

Hi

What OS is the computer currently running ??? Have you just tried another screen? It is possible the monitor is Dead. Also are you getting any beeps? If so how many ?

Is the heat sink clear of dust?. Have you tried taking everything out and the cleaning and placing it all back in? Is the keyboards number lock lighting up?

OK there is something I would like to add: When I boot it up it says "resuming windows" and then the monitor goes to sleep. I not sure if that helps....

If it is saying resuming windows then it is going into some kind of power saving state, ie standby or hibernate. Go into power options in control panel and use the high performance profile. If that works then just set the power profile back to normal, open command prompt as an administrator and type "powercfg -h off" without the quotes which will permanently disable hibernate. It may be that the computer does not like some of the power saving features included with Windows 7. Let me know how it goes!

If you can, go into safe mode and do what he advises^^

If you can aswell... can you install windows on another harddrive and try booting from that on the computer.

Run Linux off of a USB, get important documents/files/whatever of off the windows partition, wipe the drive and do a reinstall.

That's what I would do, assuming the hardware is fine. Does it beep in any particular order/manner? You may want to look that up in your mobo manual.
