Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i saw it on here already, Ubuntu Live CD or Live USB if you got one on hand! lol and a spare external or USB. Boot to live CD Ubuntu and mount the problomatic HDD if it did not automaticly, copy everything you need to a spare USB or External HDD and load a new OS on the HDD, personally since this had happened again and if you have tested the ram you either have a dieing HDD or a dieing CPU, The HDD is much mroe likely to have kicked the bucket so just pick up a new one. reinstall windows and throw all your info back on. Hope you manage to fix your problem!

Work Station:: Cooler Master Storm Trooper // i7-3930K @ 3.9 GHz // Asus Sabertooth X79 // Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4X4GB) 1600 MHz // Cooler Master 1200W Gold // Xonar Essence STX // Radeon HD 6970 // Avermedia HD Live Gamer Pro

Gaming Rig:: Cooler Master Scout // i7-2700k @ 4.0GHz // MSI Z68 // G-Skill Ripjaw 16GB (4X4EB) 1066MHz // Antec 750W Bronze // Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD // EVGA GTX 670

If it were me, and assuming that you have another PC, i would start testing each component separately. What do i mean by that you say, well you take each part, first the HDD plug it in to another PC and check if i get the same problem. if it boots and runs then i would immediately back up all important files on another HDD and do a fresh install of windows. Then install the RAM in another PC and run windows memory diagnostics on extended with cache enabled and with 4 passes on the memory for error checking(this will take some time probably 12hours to a day) Once no errors are found then i would put back the HDD(with the freshly installed windows and the RAM and boot up and do normal use and see what happens. Now this could just be the onboard Nvidia graphics acting up on the MOBO and you won't be able to fix that. If the problem persists then i would focus my attention on the PSU and make sure all connectors are securely connected, then the CPU and make sure that it has a fresh thermal compound on it, then if the problem still persists then i would start changing parts starting with the HDD. If all parts have seemed to be working try a new compatible MOBO if possible.

I notice you have not said how long your parents have had the PC. If it is around 3years or more than 3years then i would lean to getting new parts as from experience, HP of that time period had a time span for reliability.

Hope you get it fixed and be patient, these kind of problems takes time.

So far changing changing the power settings is working. I did trouble shoot the ram,hdd. I was about to start the process of a complete trouble shoot but luckily I did not have to:) Thanks for the help:)

If it is saying resuming windows then it is going into some kind of power saving state, ie standby or hibernate. Go into power options in control panel and use the high performance profile. If that works then just set the power profile back to normal, open command prompt as an administrator and type "powercfg -h off" without the quotes which will permanently disable hibernate. It may be that the computer does not like some of the power saving features included with Windows 7. Let me know how it goes!
Your welcome! :)
