I just received a new CPU, i5-6600, for Christmas but it was supposed to be an i5-6600k and we are not sure if we will be able to return it and get the 6600k. Has anyone overclocked a non-k i5-6600? If you have would you recommend it and how did it perform?

Mobo: ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming

No my dad intended to buy me the 6600k but when he ordered it he accidentally ordered a non-k 6600, it was an honest mistake and I'm just trying to see what I can do as I wanted the 6600k for OCing

Don't know whether an Asus Z170 can do BCLK.

But update to the latest BIOS then try for BCLK OC.

Maximus VIII Extreme

Maximus VIII Gene
