First PC, what would you change?

Nebby

Anything that is not filled in, I have.

Perhaps if it's not too much more a higher wattage power supply, two 390s wouldn't be a bad thing even in the future.

Also: Why that SSD, there's a 250gb 850 evo for only $77 and 500gb for around that price I believe.

But you switched his CPU to a non K version and with water cooling he can overclock it.

I would change your storage. A 120GB SSD for that price is completly overpriced.
You can get a better performing 240GB SSD and a 1TB HDD for a lower price:

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card  ($329.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case Fan: Corsair SP140 49.5 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($15.35 @ OutletPC)

But does he need a 980 Ti? I wouldn't recommend one if he's only gaming at 1080p.

And I also wouldn't recommend to buy a single 240GB SSD, especially not a 850 as a boot device.

why not? You get twice as much fps and better looking games come out every day.

Also wtf is wrong with 850 evo as a single boot device?

I think it makes more sense to buy a cheaper card now and upgrade more often. Not because of the cost, but because he can get new features quicker.

I never said that there is something wrong with a 850 Evo as a boot device.

Newbie here. Been a lurker for quite some time. Would recommend the gtx 970. Half the price of a 980 ti and will give you solid frame rates (45-60) at 1080p. Hope this helps. Cheers.
