Copper Tubing

Go to solution Solved by B NEGATIVE,

12mm OD annealed copper is what you will need for most fittings.

Just wondering, I've seen very few water cooling builds with copper tubing. I love the aesthetic, even though I probably won't do one in my SG05 simply because of how small it is. Anyway, what diameter tubing does one use? Do people just go to Home Depot and pick up some 1/2" copper tubing? What fittings do you use?

This is copper tubing that is nickel plated, which I know how to do:

Would a copper tubing (or PETG tubing) loop be feasible in my SG05? I have space for a single (thick and very high fin density) radiator in my chassis, and it would be cooling a 290 and an i3/Xeon.

Any specific ID? Or is it Schedule 40 or 80?

ID is immaterial,it will be around the 10mm region however.

So it is important that the OD is 12mm (1/2"), and that's it? And it has to be annealed or can I do that myself?

You can do it yourself, its a PITA tho....

Dont cofuse 1/2" with 12mm,they are not the same. Confuse the 2 and the loop will leak for sure.
