The rise of chiclet

newbee15

Ive been looking for some time now and cant find what I'm searching for. Im looking for a gaming chiclet keyboard. Basically a G710+ with chiclet keys, has anyone found something. If it doesn't exist, what mechanical key switch has the closest feel to chiclet keys?

Closest feel to chiclet would probably MX Reds (maybe with o-rings).

I'm not aware of any chiclet keyboards though.

Chiclet is even more aweful then membrane, no mechnical switch is even near them.

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)

This has rubbers around the switches. But it's blues though, I never bother to check what switches they have.

Nope they don't exist, I've looked around allot.

And no mechanical is close to chiclet, with chiclet you have short travel time and you bottom out the keys, no mechanical has this because the keys are high.

My favorite keys are chiclet keys (mechanical s are horrible to me, too much travel time, high keys etc).  I use a logitech k360 atm, it's very good for the price ;P

The only "gaming" chiclet I know of is the Razer Deathstalker, I would love to try one, but damm its expensive for no good reason, just like all "gaming" keyboards.

There is plentiful of chiclet boards for gaming. I have however never used them.

From what I got, you want backlighting Media and Macro keys, so the

Steelseries APEX and APEX Raw

seems like the thing you are looking for.

might be that there is other boards that I don't know of, so it is best to do a bit of research or wait for anyone with more experience with chiclets comment on this.

There are 2 versions of it. One is piss-expensive ($250), the other is much less ($100 or less).

Turns out, it's actually $80. Still probably too expensive. I'd rather go for the Apex RAW at that price.

That isn't chiclet its just low profile keys, had a Razer Arctosa for awhile, not as good as chiclet feels ;p

Chiclet are keyboards with keys similar to laptop keys.

Cheapest I can find it over here is for £70 which is around $100 :/

Also razer never made a UK version of the keyboard, they all have the small enter key instead of a big one which is a big no no in my opinion.

Also non without a wrist rest or one that can be removed....

All the "good" keyboards are mechanical and high key membranes, chiclets don't get any love.
