i couldn't find much on the internet, except for the gigabyte website, but what does this RED USB port actually do? how many Amps does it deliver?what are it's limitations? what can i connect and what not?

It's no different than a regular USB port the 3.1 spec does give it the extra speed for transfer and ability to deliver higher current (up to 100W) over the single connector.

AFAIK the USB spec does not dictate colors for everything, so Gigabyte has just decided to use red for identification. It does NOT mean it delivers 100W of power.

It's just like any other USB ports except it transfers data faster

what would happen if I download the on/off charge drive for my z170 hd3p motherboard? would it mess with the currents of the red usb port? and what about the others? check link below

The red labeled USB headers are just ones that are capable of carrying higher current and work when the computer is off if enabled, it's good for tablets or phones hat require a higher current than the standard 0.5amps from most USB headers or won't even charge with low current.

However I don't believe the board you are looking at has that feature built on the internal USB headers.
