  1. Anyone tried that keyboard? Is it any good?
  2. Yes, stock cooler that came with the 3600X. Noisy thing, will eventually replace it with something bigger and quieter, but for now it will do.
  3. Good read, thank you! A little update for anyone reading through this later, steps taken so far: - Enabled PBO as it was on Auto by default, which means turned off. - Put a limit of 1.250V on peak core voltage - Adjusted fan curves while I was already in the BIOS. - In F@H configured to only fold on 6 out of 12 threads of the CPU. No changes to GPU, folding at Medium power, On Idle. - Removed top lid from R6, leaving the filter in place. (This alone seems to improve case temps by 5C on idle power) Last night temps topped out at 86C on CPU a
  4. I changed CPU core count to 3 in Advanced settings, will see how that helps if at all. My room is nice and cool at 20C but inside the case while idle it is around 35C
  5. Is this normal for temps to get this high? I just started Folding last month, and have been monitoring temps, seeing 95C on CPU is kinda worrying. I normally leave PC Folding during the night, and check hardware monitor in the morning, which saves the MAX temperature reached. Just wondering what other people out there with similar systems get? GPU gets just as hot. System is all stock, nothing is OCed: - Ryzen 5 3600X - MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB GAMING X - Fractal Design R6 Thank you for your responses.
  6. Thanks All for your inputs! This is my current part list, I hope to get some discounts on the Boxing Day coming up. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $249.99 @ Memory Express Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard $154.50 @ Vuugo Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $95.99 @ Newegg Canada Storage Cruci
  7. Is the aforementioned case good at keeping the dust out? That's my main sticking point in choosing a case. Are there other cases that are good at keeping dust out and are also quiet and not flashy ?
  8. Basically as the title says, looking for a decent case with good air filtration. Building a new rig around Ryzen 5 3600 / 5700 XT
  9. DaVinci Resolve Canada. Currently two 1080p 16x9 monitors @60Hz but will eventually switch to new monitor, 21x9 1440p or 16x9 4k, not sure yet. Budget for new Case / CPU / Mobo / RAM / GPU / SSD hopefully under C$1,000 Will re-use PSU
  10. Hi All, I'm planning to build a new rig to replace my very aging AMD FX 8350, and don't need too much performance, but i do need to be able to edit 4K GoPro videos. Also might play an occasional game. In the future I may want to hook up a VR headset. So the question is, Ryzen 5 3600 - enough for the task? What's the difference with 3600X besides slightly higher clock? Is extra $160 for the 3700X worth considering? I would much rather spend the extra cash on a GPU at the moment than overpay for CPU. Thanks for everyone's input in advance!
  11. Thanks All, Very reasonable... I think whatever is on sale and meets one's needs is Top Tier at that particular moment in time. This begs a question, I'm planning to build a new rig to replace very aging AMD FX 8350, and don't need too much performance, but i do need to be able to edit 4K GoPro videos. So the question is, Ryzen 5 3600 - enough for the task? What's the difference with 3600x besides slightly higher clock? Is extra $160 for the 3700x worth considering?
  12. Just curious if the idea ever came to fruition? Searching the forum for CPU Tier List doesn't yield any results but this short thread. @Boinbo @LukeSavenije, @themctipers, @Stefan Payne, and @XR6
  13. More and better(more efficient) FPS !!! Currently using R9 380
  14. This is a viable alternative to an UltraWide monitor!
