I think Windows 10 is giving me some sort of memory problem...

Whorax

I've had this problem ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 where sometimes I'll be doing two different things simultaneously (mostly playing War Thunder/Fallout 4 and watching Twitch/YouTube at the same time) and my system will get incredibly "laggy," for lack of a better term. Everything on my computer stutters and sound glitches out in bursts, and the only thing that fixes it is a restart. The only reason I know this involves my memory is because I looked in my task manager while this happened and noticed memory was at 99%.

Anyone have this problem? Or a potential fix to it if there is one? I don't know what a memory leak feels like since I've never had one, but if this is one, is it fixable? I only remember this happening since I updated to Windows 10.

Also, I wasn't sure if this belonged in OS and Software or Memory, so here I am. Sorry if it's in the wrong subforum.

Thanks for any help.

I'm off my main machine for the night and typing this from my laptop right now. I'll come back and list them tomorrow. :P

What consumes so much memory?

If it is "System" in Task Manager, then it is a memory leak caused by a driver (probably graphics card or sound card, would be my guess, but Ethernet/wireless could also be it)

It was not System as that was only using like 65MB, but I can't tell you what the main culprit using it all was. I guess I didn't think to look. I'm sure if I finagle around a bit I can replicate the problem tomorrow and find out what is using most of it.

I noticed your mainboard use Killer Network, try to disable the monitoring program/service.

Ah yes, that has been reported many times to cause nothing more than problems.

How would I go about disabling this thing? I didn't even know this existed. :P

Found it on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/369uwk/does_windows_10_have_a_system_wide_memory_leak/

Not 100% sure if that was the problem.
