sucks that my 7870 is unstable at stock....

Too bad they don't really mean anything. They had a brief time when everyone was harping on about them. 

the higher they are, the better you can oc on air/water, which is pritty important

huhhhhh.... here we go again..... asics have almost nothing to do with the max oc and your card that has the high asic but is very unstable is a prime example......

No, ASIC does not indicate how well the card can OC. My R9 290X has 79,7% ASIC score. It does OC very well, but it's not because of that for sure.

Actually no real results have been show either way of it. Sorta pointless if you ask me

Not true. 

 

I have two of the same cards. One is about 80% ASIC quality, the other is in the low 60s. The one with the lower ASIC quality overclocks much better than the one with 80%+

 

EDIT: That is true for both air and water, by the way.

mines at 73.5 or 75.3 and can also oc really well, and its a strix which i love putting in peoples faces who say the strix is the worst oc`er xD

My 960 is at 81.5 but it can be rather unstable at higher OC's while I got my GT 730 (65 ASIC) at +300 core +400 mem without raising voltages.

Please stop spreading misinformation. You're only going to notice differences if you're LN2 cooling. 

 

IMHO, LN2 shouldn't even be advertised because it's not practical. It's for epeen flexing and that's about it. <_<
