Help find GPU that FITS.

Go to solution Solved by SteveGrabowski0,

My current GPU just died. (Palit GTX 570). PIC OF RIP

Haven't measured it yet myself, but Palit's site says its 228 x 112 mm.

Now, the current card fits VERY snuggly. I mean VERY. a 230 x *** card probably wouldn't.

So I need help finding a card that would.

Budget is <400eur, so most likely a 970.

What I found myself is GTX970-DCMOC-4GD5 (Asus 970 STRIX)  its 170 x 122 so it would fit and its 396eu.

Any other suggestions, or should I go for it ?

I have heard the itx 970s can sometimes throttle. Maybe this Zotac dual fan card would be better? It's 204 mm x 111 mm.

The list so far:

STRIX          170 x 122 GTX970-DCMOC-4GD5   369eur
GIGABYTE  168 x 123 GV-N970IXOC-4GD          348eur
ZOTAC        204 x 111 ZT-90101-10P                  368eur

Any other suggestions, or should I go for it ?

Noticed i posted in wrong category. Because of the fucked up lines  misread CPU as GPU. If mod or anyone would relocate this (if needed) that would be nice.

What about a 390? Usually cheaper (check your area) and performs at or above the 970s level.

I like nVidia. I know it's nitpicking, but i've had AMD before this card, and it wasn't pleasant for me : /

Fits the criteria, but it's not one of those "well know, reliable" brands(?). If people would vouch for it, its probably the best choice.

I have heard they're a pain in the ass with RMA, but I hear the same about Asus too.

The local reseller would deal with RMA... IF needed. (Let's hope not).

If that were the case, and you were in my shoes, would you go for ZOTAC ? Because im sitting here with my credit card ready to buy a new GPU.

If I was in your shoes I'd look on pcpartpicker to find every 970 less than 230 mm, then research each model pretty thoroughly. My best guess is the Zotac would be the best due to it being dual fan and fitting your case (too bad the EVGA dual fan cards are 241 mm) but I don't know the European models like Palit or Inno3D, for example.

PC partpicker gives me 4 cards. the 3 we talked about and GALAX 97NPH6DT8RVZ, which is not even sold here.

Zotac has alot (alot more) of posivite 4/5 star reviews there.

Thanks for helping guys. Going for zotac.

The shortest R9 390 is the Gigabyte one though at 234 mm, and @xTheEc0 says he doesn't think he could squeeze in even 230 mm.

Ah. Never mind then.
