  1. So, I don't know if I cheated the system by accident or what, but.. While discord was asking to enter my phone number to verify, I went and linked my discord acc to the forum acc, and now I can chat. So, the 'MUST' have a verified phone number to chat at all rule is not valid?
  2. I didn't say that it should fit _on_ my desk tho. So I have finalized my build. Had to go with 8700k. Called the redistributor and they won't have 8700's until December. Well, whatever, the board is Z370 anyway. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/xqNVjc Got an Evo 212 since 8700k comes with no cooler, but can't find that on partpicker. German partpicker (I'm in Europe) doesn't have prices for the monitors, but the total comes up to 1.9k So thanks again for help guys. Sent the part list to my lead, he ok'd it. Now let's hope it arrives for November 1st-ish.
  3. I assume 8700 (even non k) does not come with a cooler, since you included one? Or do you hate intel ones that much : D
  4. Thanks, those two are great bases to work on. I might need to adjust slightly because of the availability of the shop we will be buying from.
  5. Storage is needed because only the unbuilt source code is almost 100gb. Add the builds, test projects etc, and its in 300gb~ range. Then add outside dependencies, programs and what not and using 500gb _might_ be enough, but I'd rather go safe with 1tb.
  6. Two because of the way I am used to store my stuff, which also allows me to nuke the first ssd and reinstall windows anytime. Nothing fancy. I'll find some cheap-ish case, 550W~ evga cpu, 16gigs of ram thats not too overkill. Nothing fancy. You're welcome to give suggestions : P
  7. Not set in stone. Basically 'go wild', but I wouldn't want to make my lead faint after seeing the total build price : D
  8. Hey peeps, before I ask the actual question of 'WHAT', here's some context to help imagine the purpose of the build. I just got promoted at work and am allowed to build a machine for myself. Work would mostly consist of running tests, compiling and building code etc. Build scripts are optimized quite well, use all cores etc, so I am thinking of either Ryzen 1700~1800 or Intel 8700 (non k. Don't want to bother with overclocking and stuff on work machine) This does not really require a beefy GPU, so I am probably getting a 1050Ti/1060 or am AMD equivalent. So what I need help with is - CPU / Motherboard combos that make sense for this. I need help with this because I don't follow motherboards at all, so I would probably pair a K processor with B370 and call it a day. But don't want my lead to faint after seeing the price of the build. Also as a side question/advice, how should I config my storage? I am thinking of doing 256 + 1TB SSD's for dem quick access times. Depending on what M.2 prices are (aren't following those either, ups) might do M.2 + SATA ?
  9. So I've been thinking of buying a new mouse since my old one is starting to die on me. Heard logitech's g402 and g502 are one of the best things you could get, but after looking around my local online shop there was something strange in the product name. (Excuse lithuanian links) g402 http://www.skytech.lt/910004067-zaidimu-pele-logitech-g402-hyperion-fury-fps-gaming-mouse-usb-eer2-p-199589.html g502 http://www.skytech.lt/910004617-logitech-g502-proteus-spectrum-rgb-tunable-gaming-mouse-eer2-p-310218.html Both have "EER2" in their names, but google comes up with NOTHING about what that is. Searching for "logitech eer2" gives me more results of this mouse in lithuanian or polish sites. Do you guys have any idea what EER2 means?
  10. Ordered Corsair AX760 80 Plus Plat. Is is the same as AX760i ? Because one is on the list, the other is not.
  11. I changed my motherboard from Asus P8P67 LE to Asus P8Z68-V PRO. Some googling tells me that changing motherboard requires windows reinstall as some things might be missing, but mine booted up normally, and seems to be working fine. Would you still recommend reinstalling? Or is it ok, since it was an Asus mobo switch?
  12. Then the second pic is showing baseclock of 103 and multiplier of 35? I did not touch bios while/after reapplying thermalpaste
  13. New thermal paste results (MX-2) Now, how do I close the topic : ?
  14. 50+ temps on no load (basic desktop programs, like chrome, qBit torrent, skype etc.) are normal? Everywhere i've read people get that kind of temps while on load.
  15. RealTemp pic. Are these temperatures normal ? Im sitting here with the window open trying to "cool it" a bit. CPU is not overclocked atm (id does turbo by itself too 4.4ish iirc), and the cooler is stock. That said, I haven't changed the thermal paste since I bought it (4ish years ago). Should I be worried? Is that normal? Should I start looking for a better cooler (Maybe AIO like Corsair's H115)?
