Hi.

For a gaming PC build, you want at least a quad core CPU. Most modern games run the best on a quad core CPU.

For your graphics card, you really only need to spend about $300 if you don't play graphics-intensive games. But even then, my graphics card, a 960, would run GTA 5 really nice.

Get a full-sized ATX board for future expansion and that has USB 3.0.

Use an SSD (120GB is optimal, can be expanded if you wish) for your boot drive and main programs.

Get a Hard Drive for all of your games (1TB drive should do it).

I would also recommend purchasing an optical drive (you can get a DVD-RW for $20AUD).

If you don't intend on overclocking, you don't need to spend money on water-cooling. You can just use the stock Intel/AMD cooler.

And case/PSU is up to you. Whatever you do, DON'T get a case with a PSU in it as they are generally pretty dodgy.

2017 Gaming PC

Excellent value machine, keeps me going.

Dell XPS 15 9560

Beautiful laptop, in a stunning form factor.

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ | GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630/Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 (not mobile, full GPU) | RAM: 16GB DDR4 | SSD: 512GB SK Hynix SSD

Display: 4K IPS 100% Adobe RGB Touch Panel | I/O: Two USB 3.0 with PowerShare, HDMI, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, SD Card Slot, and Thunderbolt 3 USB-C
