Is star citizen playable on keyboard and mouse? What about controller?

Alright, So Star Citizen is very playable with a K+M setup, but they recently added some magic stuff that make HOTAS's better. As for the controller, I know that Xbox (not sure if 360, 1 or both) works.

Mouse and keyboard is all set up and present. It's the most complete possibility available, though it takes some practice to learn the combinations.

Mouse and Keyboard are fine and actually my preferred input method right now.

Ships with fixed guns are a bit difficult to aim, but something like a Mustang Alpha already has it's weapons on a turret so they'll follow your mouse and it's only 5$ more than the standard Aurora MR.

If you're not happy with the default layout everything can be customized and tuned to your liking no matter what controller you're using.
