Windows 10 (With Samsung 840 Evo) takes minutes to boot

It's all in the title, specs in sig. Any tips on speeding up boot times apart from usual disabling of programs in task manager etc..?

My Windows 10 system boots up in less than 20 seconds. Make sure it's plugged into Sata 6Gb/s!

Even so, sata 2 supports something up to 140 mb/s. Shouldn't be taking minutes even if it was plugged into sata 2.

Mine in 10 seconds with HDD! :)

I would recommend Clean Installing the OS.

 

It's too much if it is taking 40 mins and all.

Not 40 mins to start thankfully, just to load this samsung software! And I'll leave installing from fresh as my last resort because I'm sick of having to do it every 6-8 months

It's Windows dude. 

 

B/w you gotta maintain everything. Such as removing junk files, temp files, browser history, unused stuffs, adwares, malwares and viruses.

 

Use ADWCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool often if you don't know what you're doing.

 

While installing any s/w you gotta choose "Custom Installation" and make sure to untick any other adwares being installed while process of installing the main s/w.

 

Use "Unchecky" for that. It's automated for that process.

 

Go to msconfig - - > Check "Hide all Microsoft Services" and uncheck the unnecessary services that you don't want running in the bg.

 

Disable unnecessary Startup items in Ccleaner if you have. Ccleaner --> Tools --> Startup.

 

If you follow all these steps, it'll stay as good as possible.

Yep running right now at advertised speeds, it's literally booting that is the only issue.

Is it taking a long time on the windows logo, or is it getting stuck on an error code for a minute and a half?

Just black screen/mobo splash, or blue windows 10 logo?

Check your BIOS for any quick/rapid start options, and turn them on/off depending what they are set to.
