Serial Ports Worth Installing?

Hi, so just about every motherboard I've seen comes with a serial port but my question is, is it worth installing? I've thought about putting it in but I can't really find a good reason to do so, something like a VGA connection maybe to a monitor? Also, could I just throw it in my system even though I already have everything else installed? Would that cause conflicts/problems? Do you guys think it's worth installing?

It's safe to say that it's 99% certain that you're 100% likely never to use it. And no, it's nothing to do with VGA.

I use a ballmouse for my desktop. I am guessing someone out there who is more of a cheapskate than me and uses a serial ballmouse compared with my PS/2 Ballmouse.

I thought you could use a VGA cable to hook up a monitor to that port, is that not how it works?
