you are too extreme here

would i used a 8350 on a 970 board?

yes, TWO boards

Gigabyte GA 970A UD3P

ASRock 970 Fata1ity Performance (sometimes goes just as 970 Performance)

why? these are 8+2 phase, high quality VRM overclocking capable boards that has been known to work well.

i would comfortably attempt 4.3 to 4.5GHz on these boards. but i would not be stupid enough to think that they would be capable of running faster then that on a 970 chipset.

would i use a 9590 with a 970 board ? no

would i just a 9590 with "any 990FX board" ? NO

the 9590, is officially ONLY GUARANTEED TO WORK WITH THE 990FX SABERTOOTH and 990FX ASUS CROSSFIRE FORMULA.

AMD does not reccomend any other boards then these two. Meaning, other boards may work, but the CPU manufacturer themselves has set those as the minimum requirement.

exactly my point.

The site has changed....

there is a few boards that i would run a 8350 on. If i was doing nothing else then staying stock.

MSI 970 Gaming, ASRock 970m Pro3 and Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

be very careful using DDR3 with Skylake. Incorrect voltage can damage the CPU.

you MUST use DDR3L to be safe

edited your list with DDR3L (1.35v) memory:
