The Stellarator reactor successfully passes a helium plasma test!

("A man thinks that by mouthing hard words, he understands hard things")

Now before you say im not called into the conversation, how about this: Your probably right, hes probably wrong, and if someone hasnt told you already, your not even slightly superior to the other who just commented (Your degree proves you know, but it doesnt mean your infallible), and if he cant argue with someone that knows what he says, its because the person who knows is afraid of being mistaken. ("(Ph'D candidate from 2015 M.S). Please don't try to argue with me on this stuff"), thats what the sanes say to protect theyr ground from the truth, but no medal, honor or action will justify complete denial, of another sentient being opinion. Done, have a good day.

If it was the first conversation I had ever had with the man.... Perhaps I could read this without being more than slightly annoyed.

Look you want to know the hard truth? We aren't equal in anything. There is next to no individual measure in which randomly selected two people are of equal merit. Which is not to say that over the sum of all merits any one being is superior to another.

This is in essence the whole concept of expert opinion... and well according to basically all the definitions out there for what constitutes an expert opinion, IN THIS CONVERSATION, I am an expert. Statistically speaking, mine is the only expert opinion likely to chime in on this forum at any time on nuclear related subjects.

Forgive me if I get annoyed by so many people coming into my field of life's work and saying shit that has no grounding (which does not particularly apply to @Enderman). Worse yet, on a topic most of them have decided not to even try to understand.

I hope you can believe me when I tell you that in almost every conversation I have with people, I hesitate greatly to mention what I work on, because the second I do, most people just turn off the lights to anything I have to say, even if it wasn't about my work, in a thought process like "well anything HE says is so far above my head, why bother trying".

NOTHING in this world makes me more upset than those moments, because I love oral communication (and have been judged quite apt at it), I love talking and learning about all different things, and above all I want to UNDERSTAND all things and want others to at least put forth some effort to do the same.

With that in mind, if you or anyone else would like to know more about the material at hand, I am generally quite pleased to either directly assist or lead you to the relevant literature (I have done both on these forums on numerous occasions).

Actually nuclear fission power is very safe if done properly. Chernobyl was a complete fuck-up from the people working at the nuclear plant and it was stupid to build the Fukushima power plant in an area with a risk of tsunamis.

Yah I don't hold an unreasonable fear of it like a lot of people do, but it can fuck up bad.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
