Yes. R9 380 already hits 200 FPS.

I have an R9 270X at stock clock, always above 200 fps. CSGO is more CPU bound than most games, unfortunately. Past a certain point, there's only so much your video card can do :\

I have to agree since my rig with its i3 and R9 390 can only push about 150 fps.

Yea... A 950 would hit 144hz without issue (cpu provided)

This bit of info conscerns me. I'm building a budged gaming rig for the sole purpose of running this game. What kind of processor do you think this thing is going to need? (Hopefully something I can get with 50 bucks)

380X will do great!  (you can even max all settings!)

For 50 bucks, a pentium g3258 with a z97 motherboard, and overclock it. You can overclock on a cheaper b85 or h97 motherboard if you have windows 7, but for windows 10, you'll have to go z97, since Intel made Microsoft disable that function in Windows 10.

Easily, i do the same with a 280x and getting about 250-300fps, though not fully maxed out

I've an i5 4670k at stock voltage and stock clock. IMO any CPU with 4 big fucking cores and hopefully not the heat dispersion of a Saturn V rocket should usually do, I went intel because AMD ITX boards were not a thing when I was on the market for a new PC, and I love my ITX rigs. Maybe a used AMD quad core for 50 bucks?

That'll do fine for CSGO, should be in the 200+ FPS range easily
