Is XFX a reliable brand for GPUS?

Got an 8800 GTX XFX.... hell this thing was loud

after that a STOCK 5490 aka jet engine

My current build has a R9 290 Tri-X OC from Sapphire - hell of a card!  Quite, good Quality!

Friends of mine got a MSI GTX 760 - althoug very quite and powerful

The R9 290 Double D cooler was running the card arond 65C while the Asus Direct-CUII was around 90C... and it wasnt loud at all(the XFX one)

 

So I'd say yes its a great brand

XFX 290 revision 4 yes, revisions 0,1,2 and 3 had absurd VRM overheating

No, i used to work for a large UK OEM system builder, they used XFX cards 280x 290x and i seen a lot of these cards go faulty, i would avoid XFX like the plague.

I have an xfx r9 280x double d. Its amazing. Not really loud at all. Keeps dust out, and it was cheaper than all the other r9 280x's at the time i got it.

Using xfx r9 390, so far no issues, runs at 63C usually and very quiet. Starts getting loud if it goes above that though, which is not very often.

i own a XFX card myself, and also two Sapphire 7950s... my XFX card has yet to fail... doesnt seem to be THE best overclocker though

A guy I know has XFX and he says it is good, also XFX have been around a long time!

Meh. They have been messing around a lot with the "lifetime warranty", a fair bit of their cards had awful VRM cooling (XFX 290 DD comes to mind), and the DD cooler isn't even that great as its hotter and louder than some of the more popular ones.

 

There isn't really a good reason to go with them over MSi or Sapphire.

I had a great warranty and customer service with them, so that's why I recommend them (canadian service was good anyways, but I know experience varies by country)
