hey,

so i run multiple monitors and i like to multitask. However, when gaming, i get stutters if i try to browse chrome or listen to music at the same time. I am always cpu bottlenecked, so it seems every little program open lowers performance. Would replacing my 3570k with a 3770k fix this?

Unless you're doing some kind of editing or productivity work an i7 really won't help you much, even then you're looking at something like a 20-30% performance increase if the software is well optimized for hyperthreading. In your sig you say you're running at 4.6ghz, you still have problems even with that kind of overclock?

Could the Crossfire X to blame?

That Core i5-3570K is a bloody excellent CPU and is not your problem mate, must be something else.

Hah, tell me about it! I get 0% SLI scaling in really CPU intensive situations :D

Well your using a hyper 212 and that could throttle your cpu a lot. Logan and the others at the tek found out that even Noctua coolers do.

That's cause it's haswell. Haswell is like another ivy bridge, if it was sandy bridge you could overclock with a 212 to at least 5.2 ghz

Talk about an exaggeration. You have to be crazy lucky for an overclock like that.

I agree with this guy^^ I use a 3570k and i too listen to music while playing my games and i got no stuttering i don't use multimonitors though and i feel the problem would be with the GPU rather than the CPU.

Is this possible all over the world or just in Iceland? 5.2ghz on a 212 cooler ha. Your ambient temperatures must be like - 10C to get that OC.

Multimonitor stuttering is your GPU, my GTX 480 does it from time to time in my 1155 rig.

A cooler doesn't throttle your CPU, your CPU throttles itself when it gets too hot. So unless hes in the 85+ degree range, he would not be throttled.
