What monitor to get...

I don't have a specific budget, just want something that isn't outrageously priced. 25 inch would be great. I live US.

I'm trying to decide what monitor to ask for for Christmas. I'm currently using a 23 inch 1080p IPS monitor, and using the system in my signature. I'm thinking either to go with 1080p 144hz 24 inch, so something like the Asus vg248qe, or going 1440p 60hz IPS. I'm not sure if I should go with 27 inch or 24inch, I'm thinking the 27inch would almost be too big. If you have any experience with these types of monitor pls let me know what you prefer, with pros/cons. Also, which monitors would you recommend?

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

well... do you want more pixels, or more frames per second?

you have the machine to push both of them without an issue.

if you can still get it, maybe ask for an identical monitor to the one you have so you can use the two of them without having mismatched monitors.

Unless you need the extra frames for competitive gaming, I'd suggest going with a higher resolution IPS panel which looks better and has more real estate to fit more things.

Thanks! I think what I would like to go with would be a 1440p IPS display. Do you all have any recommendations for a 24inch and 27inch?

24"? 1440p tends to go down to 25" for desktop monitors.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?
