Coil whine on 980 Ti, where should I go from here?

Weeks back, I got an Asus 980 Ti Strix. It coil whined.

 

Got a replacement, it still coil whined.

 

Asked for a refund, got it approved.

 

So I bought a MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G.

 

It arrived a few hours ago, just tested it. Coil whine. What's worse, there's something wrong with the fans. The fan has a muffled rattle when it spins. Distinctly different from the coil whine.

 

...

 

Where...where should I go from here?

 

Should I try my chance on another Strix? (It's a really great card, the cooling solution is great) Or another Gaming 6G? Or yet another brand?

 

I really can't stand coil whine. I see people saying they have cards that do not have coil whine at all. I really want to believe, but 3 cards already, all whining like a motherfu**er (not extreme FPS, within 60fps). What should I do now?  :mellow:

it seems coil whine happens on all cards.. i honestly cant imagine you getting a new card and it not whining...

try changing your PSU

a lot of the time its the PSU that causes a GPU to coil whine

Coil whine happens on pretty much every GPU, I've found capping my fps works well.

I heard ALOT of 970's have coil whine, but mine doesn't. I got the small Zotac 970 that is smaller than my 7850, lol.  At least it has 2 fans unlike that tiny Asus POS.  Anyhow... I think your PSU could be related but if not, I've heard many others use that folding program and it went away.

Coil whine happens on pretty much every GPU, I've found capping my fps works well.

I stated in the post, it's within 60FPS. Coil whining, within 60 fps.

I've never noticed coil whine on any of my PC components ever. Got an Amp Extreme 980ti and expected it to have coil whine since a lot of people buying the card were reporting it but I just don't hear it, even with the panels off. Maybe its because I literally have V-Sync enabled 24/7 because fuck screen tearing. 

 

What I did notice coil whine on was my Macbook. Brought it to the Genius bar after a week of trying to get used to it and he was like, "You spent a week trying to get used to it! No way. Here's a new one".
