The funny thing is that I know the HD5650 better than quite a few of the GPU listed. But its still not as good as the iGPU in Broadwell and Skylake (though most of its problem is the fact that its got such a low clock speed-which can't be adjusted-and only 1GB vRAM which just isn't enough).

Mine's the mobile version. The only time I had it overclocked (aka the only time I didn't use the HP drivers which are the only ones that allow me to switch between the HD5650 and HD4250 on the fly) I actually had it doing quite well in Skyrim, though until I got the Phenom II N970 the P920 was bottlenecking both dGPU.

To this day its my favourite mobile CPU-and since its got a better IMC than the older P920, when I get around to it the laptop will go from 4GB DDR3 1066 to 8GB DDR3 1333.

What's funny about that list is my 290 is the better overclocker, at least using a mild voltage increase. Maybe the 390 requires more voltage than a 290?

That Ati 4250 with 2GB of DDR2 sounds like it has exactly the same configuration as the 4250 in my laptop. Despite the fact that its supposed to have no dedicated vRAM, when I was cleaning the laptop I found a 256MB chip of DDR2 next to it, and 4x 256MB of what I think is GDDR3 (though its probably just DDR3) for the 5650.

Its a shame that Ati/AMD/Nvidia decided that small GPU were no longer a thing-the older GPU are tiny when compared to newer ones-even CPU die are larger. And they didn't put out too much heat and they didn't consume that much power.
