Hi. Quick question.

How can I buy games through Origin using my sister's credit card? She's currently working in the US, while I'm here in the Philippines (Asia).

Is there any way to make this possible? I tried to buy a game on Steam last month, with my sister's permission of course, and it turned out that I can't.

My suggestion to her is that she can use my account there in the US to buy the game that I wanted, so I can download it here. Is that possible?

Suggestions are welcome.

Heres a loophole. Ship your sister your hard drive then have her install all your games then have here send it back :P

Expensive but it'll work :)

I don't really know what that is. Can you make an example using my situation?

I believe he means proxy, in that case I would Google for american proxy servers. Basically, by using a proxy, all of your web traffic is sent to and from a server in America, then back to your computer. Effectively this makes it appear that you are inside of the US.

EDIT: Based on the post above, this might violate Steam's TOS!

(Thanks Bonsai!!)

My sister is not much of a tech person. So I doubt that she can install a hard drive. And your suggestion is the last thing I had in mind.

Isn't there any other way? I'm kind of a pussy doing stuff that "violates rules".

And I'm buying through Origin now, not steam (because... BF3).

I honestly think you'd be fine, and I think the only reason stuff like that is against the TOS is developers wishing to region-lock their games. It'd be pretty insane if they even detected it, but I cannot guarantee anything!

use hotspot shield to make origin believe that you live in USA. I use this method to buy some of ea games that only have discount on US but not in Asia store. But i am using paypal to pay for it.

Does that violate Origin's TOS? And is your credit card from US?

you can just get your sister to "gift" the item to you, and it's completely legal - however this requires that your sister is in US and have an account to give the gift to you.

(completely legal as to my knowledge, as it is considered a gift, i'm not a lawyer don't hunt me down)

Think this is the way to go.

Sister buys game on her own account, then gifts directly to your account.

The only problem is, my sister is not that patient. She doesn't like doing anything that she doesn't know of. (e.g: Games, especially buying one). She consider it as a hassle.

Can I create an account for her?

Oh and how can she gift me?

Does she have a PayPal account? If so, ask her for her PayPal log in information and buy games that way, or vice versa.

As for Steam, if she's in America she should be able to buy Steam Wallet cards in retail stores, ask her to buy those and send you the codes.

Datablitz sells steam wallet codes here. And you can buy the humble bundle for bf3 for 5 dollars using PayPal. Or just buy the disc.

My sister has one.

Link it to PayPal. And buy the humble bundle. Battlefield 3 and 9 other games if you pay above average.
