So 2 years ago when I built my pc I got this ram (CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866)

Can I buy another set of this and put it in to make it 16gb or does it not work that way

As long as it has the same speed, latency, and voltage it should work fine.

even if its not the same speed, latency it will work at the lowest speed, highest latency
