Buy Now or Wait for Pascal?

As the title says, is it worth it to buy something like the 980ti now and then use it for sli later or just wait and get a pascal card?

I'd honestly wait for pascal. But since its probably a while until it gets released, I'd try to pick up a 2nd hand GPU to bridge the time. A gtx 970 could be worthwhile for this time.

Edit: in other words: get a proper card now, but don't go all in if you're unsure.

You won't see high end pascal; i.e, 1080ti's until 2017 most likely so it entirely depends on what you're currently using.

if you play in 1080p, get a used 7970 or 680 for the time being. they are ± 150$.

there are no precise lauch dates for pascal as of now .

As far as we know , it could be anywhere in 2016.

But considering nvidia is having problems with hbm2 supply , i could safely bet that pascal will come out at the end of 2016 .

 

So i would suggest buying a good gpu now and buy a pascal or volta gpu later

the fury x also has faster memory than anything prior, but its performance isn't particularly mind blowing compared to the gddr5 based 980ti. we'll have to wait and see.
