Windows for test bench

ShadowCaptain
Go to solution Solved by kameshss,

yeah thats what I thought, but if people are saying W10 doenst really check, or maybe I can just use the 30 day grace period, then that could be an option too

If I was making money off YouTube id happily just buy whatever I needed, but I already need to buy a  test bench / PC case, PSU etc, and maybe other bits an bobs, so trying to look after my expenditure

I think having a nice test bench will really benefit me

There is no grace period on Windows 10. You can use it indefinitely. It's legal too. It will be considered as pirated if you use any activator.

You can't just use some personalization.

Yep! :)

You gonna get a test bench case? You decided on what you are going to get?

Not yet, cant decide on getting a nice open test bench,

or getting a nice case - which means I can test hardware in an environment similar to how the end user will get it

You should get the open test bench. It'll be more easier. Also when you are testing temps and airflow things, you may need a nice case to test it.

So both.

Get a open test bench first then a nice case later.

Hmm maybe so

I was thinking a nice case, keep the cooler, fans and everything the same, so all hardware is tested in the same enviroment - meaning all of my benchmarks carry some consistency

Obviously if I get sent a cooler/case/fans, I can compare it to my existing benchmark -

if I get sent a GPU, I can test it in the same config as every other GPU test

BUT yeah an open test bench is better, it just limits how much benchmarking can be done since my results will not be representative of a built PC

I need to win the lottery haha

I've seen luke using a small portable shelves kind a thing used as test bench. I don't know what to call it.

Use something like that may be! :)

Look for DIMASTECH and DIYPC test bench cases.

Just did a quick search on PCPP http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/case/#t=13,12&sort=a8&page=1
