21:9 Monitor on mobile device

Hi guys,

 

Not entirely sure if this should be posted here, but I'll give it a try.

 

I'm currently running an Asus ROG G750JY with an GTX980M inside, rocking 8GB GDDR5 Memory.

Also, I'm in the market for buying an external display, preferably a 21:9 34" 3440x1440 monitor,

like the Dell Ultrasharp U3415W or the Acer Predator X34.

 

Now my question is, does anyone have any idea what the performance will be like under these circumstances?

I've found Ultrawide, while cool to see with supported programs, to be quite annoying to set up. There is also barely any support in games yet. Even for fallout 4, my friend who has an ultrawide had to go into the game files just to get it to not look stretched.

Horrible. You're trying to use a mobile GPU for something a lot of desktop grade GPU's have trouble with.

I don't think and as others pointed out, X34 gsync is overrated. For me it boils down to pricing between xr341ck and 34um95
