Intel or AMD ?

Hey guys , which build would be the best price/performance ? 

 

Intel :

i5 4670k

Gigabyte Z87X D3H

Rosewill HIVE 750W

Zotac GTX 760

NZXT Switch 810

 

AMD :

FX 8350

ASRock 990X Extreme 3

Rosewill HIVE 750W

ASUS Matrix HD 7970 Platinum or GTX 770

NZXT Swtich 810 

 

Will be watercooling this build at the end of the year .

I would go AMD.   I just prefer it. Especially their gpu's.

AMD in this case I think the 7970 wins here but like @CoolBeans always says wait for 9XXX series.

The AMD build is the better of the two, in my opinion.

Well in terms of performance the AMD is faster but the Intel build has more features. Also don't get the Asrock extreme3, it lacks proper power phases for the 83XX cpu's and will throttle your CPU under load. Grab a MSI or Asus 990fx board.

FX bottlenecks those GPUs so not worth it but whatever you like. I'd go with i5 day and night unless i wouldn't be playing any games.

Check benchmarks, at best case (GPU-based game) the fx gets close to i5 FPS but when it's CPU based then you are losing lots of potential FPS.

 

I'd call it bottleneck. FX is too slow for gaming right now. Also the minimum FPS are worse with FX-es.

i would not buy any of those gpu and wait till the end of september the 9xxx series will blow all the 700 and 7000 series away

I want to do watercooling at the end of the month , I can't find a 7950 with a reference pcb in my country . And I'v seen some benchmarks where the GTX 760 beats the 7950 .
