What's your budget? Plantronics GameCom 788 is a really good headset with a really good microphone for it's price.

Price. Color. DIY Better off getting great Headphones, and getting a ModMic or better Microphone. Gaming headphones tend to have downsides in both departments. Steel Series is Decent, Hyper X Headphones have been getting decent reviews. All about your head and ear size.

Kingston HyperX Cloud (original)

Why not the II's?

1. The 7.1 surround has been tested and doesnt improve directionality but gives a better sense of distance. And its simulated 7.1 which im against in general.

2. Its more expensive.

3. The USB dongle is bad, it doesnt let the headset achieve its full potential.

4. The build quality seems to have been scaled down and QC is bad according to a few posts i have seen and my friends saw a lot of Cloud II's being returned while they worked at a local store.

well if you realy want good headphones go with the normal ones.. dunno if any 'gaming' phones are actually good... get the ones without mic.. I would buy something from Denon, just because I have the in-ear headphones, very old ones.. like 5-6 years old, once washed in the washing machine.. and still working good
