How Do these Work?

I don't know a single thing about audio, but I'm pretty sure my mobo doesn't have this jack, so how could I use these headphones on my computer?

The headphones have a 3.5mm jack, and includes a 3.5mm to 6.3mm (1/4 inch) jack.

Your mobo has the jack. its a standard headphone jack, the weird looking one is what plugs into the headphones themselves.

When in doubt, re-format.

It's a regular headphone jack.

However, you may need an amp for k7xx

Looks like it does, but people are saying get the Magni 2, which isn't too expensive?

That's a great amp.

However I would wait until you get the headphones, and see if your pc will drive them to suitable volume

I don't really have the option to wait.

Watching Linus's video it seems the AMP doesn't come with anything because the AC adapter?

You may need a 3.5mm to RCA cable, if it doesnt come with one.

What exactly does the amp do? I'm reading that they headphones will work at about 80% without one, what does that mean?

Amp will make it louder.

That 80% thing is pure garbage.

It just depends on whether or not your pc can drive it loud enough. It will either be loud enough, or not, there is no "driving it to its full potential"

Would you be able to tell from my specs? Would Audio Boost play any role?

No, I would not, as MB's dont give good specs. And every person likes a different volume.

Audio Boost is just a made up term by MSI (i think its MSI)

Were you saying there is no medium? It's either good or bad? I never listen to anything very loud and I honestly haven't touched my volume control in months because I listen to everything at kind of a medium, should I be fine? and just get an amp later if I feel I want to blast sound?

While we're at it, what would you suggest for speakers? I want to get 4 to mount to each of the corners in my room and I can connect to my PC.

If you can wait, do so. Even if the amp doesn't affect your listening volume or quality, it's nice to have a physical volume control at hand.

What about speakers? What would you suggest for 4 smallish ones to mount on my walls? What would I need to control it from my computer?
