Good tablet for just regular use?

So my mother wants to buy a tablet, problem is she doesn't know what to get and I haven't really been following the tablet scene. So any tablets you guys would recommend? She hasn't given me a budget, but I think she'd appreciate it if it is under 250 euro's or something. I live in the Netherlands if that matters.

+1 for the nexus 7. GREAT screen, good speakers, crappy camera, no expandable storage, lots of features, and its lightweight and far more durable than anything apple has to offer.

Use it as a touchscreen car interface. Someone on the forums did this with the nexus 7 2012.
