I have a Corsair Carbide Air 540 and 2 12" Darkside White LED Strips and i dont really like the way it lights up the case. The lighting is too directional. I read that CCFL's lighting is more fluid throughout the case. And yes i already know about the inverters for CCFL lights and i have a dual chamber case to hide the inverter so no problem there

For LED's if they are placed right they can give a fairly nice even glow just be sure to have it cast the light out onto the components and not to have a direct line of sight to the lights themselves. If not possible of there are bright spots from reflections using a diffuser can prevent that from occurring

CCFL do tend to give a more even glow since light comes from all directions of the tube, but they don't tend to last as long as LED's and can discolor or degrade at different rates from each other more so than LED's.
