Wow, that thing had to have weighed 8 pounds at the least. Hey if it runs good, feels good, and looks good, why toss it? Plus a lot of the new/newer stuff is expensive as hell.

Agreed.

I know how to handle those di*ks. I agree 110%, if only they are a little cheaper. One thing to point out strengths but some people go too far.

That's about the weight of my old notebook/desktop replacement laptop (if not a bit heavier after its larger battery), the laptop I was talking about only weighs about 5 and a half pounds since its only 15" (4:9 square screen). If a laptop is made right it can be relatively light and strong even when made from heavy plastics and glass.

From my understanding if there is a policy on anyone's life choice, the people behind it will be discriminating in some way. (sure you posted this in the right topic?)

Honestly I don't like Apple 100% but you can't compete with their stuff for college. I would get the 13 inch or 15 inch mac pro. You can't even notice the weight difference and you will get better performance out of the pro. Also battery is not bad at all on the pro only like an hour less if that

That's about the weight of my old notebook/desktop replacement laptop (if not a bit heavier after its larger battery), the laptop I was talking about only weighs about 5 and a half pounds since its only 15" (4:9 square screen). If a laptop is made right it can be relatively light and strong even when made from heavy plastics and glass.

Honestly I don't like Apple 100% but you can't compete with their stuff for college. I would get the 13 inch or 15 inch mac pro. You can't even notice the weight difference and you will get better performance out of the pro. Also battery is not bad at all on the pro only like an hour less if that

No you honestly can't, I am a windows guy but who can argue with something that light and thin. I am going for the Air since I am getting it much cheaper and I don't need that much power, plus any extra battery I can squeeze the better.

 

You could go for something like the lenovo carbon x1 or T450s.

I like the X1 carbon, but I can not afford one, the T450's I don't like period because I despise the new keyboard keys/layout, I am a purest with my Thinkpad keyboard. The air I will get use to easily since I will be using for school allot.

 

Quick update: The classmate mentioned that someone else inquired about it....... deposit given! She offered $500 to them so I scored with $100 less! I will be getting it Monday or Wednesday at the latest. She does photography and writes blogs for a living, she mentioned about wiping because of there might still be pictures..... please don't!!!! :lol: :lol: :P  Getting excited about receiving it. I will post pictures when I get it.

Only thing that surprised me, was that the battery drained quickly. I got it to 1%, turned it off and am charging it now to see if that helps. I am looking deeper (sense I don't know much about the OS.) to see what is hogging the battery. If anyone has an idea let me know. I am in love with it though, the feel, quality (feeling of), and the keyboard. I really like the keyboard so far, which is saying something.

It should last me throughout college, unless some dip-wad spills a liquid on it, or I get hit by a car....... so all should be good. :) Thanks for all your help Dabom!

 

UPDATE-I am doing this update via the Air, that is how much I am liking it so far. The battery, having been reset, almost gave me 7 hours on 100%. So I should be ok, for school. If I see where I will need some extra juice while in class (and I can't get to a plug) I will look at the BatteryBox or the ChugPlug. But so far all is well. Again thanks guys.
